Center Parcs Park Bostalsee

One of the most modern tourism facilities in Europe was built in the north of Saarland in just two years – the Center Parcs Park Bostalsee. Incidentally, it is the first open Center Parc in Europe, as it is also accessible to non-guests of the holiday park.

Three principals realised this large-scale project: SHS Strukturholding Saar GmbH, Projektgesellschaft Bostalsee mbH & Co. KG (3 shareholders: the municipality of Nohfelden 50%, the district of St. Wendel 30% and the SHS subsidiary LEG Saar 20%) and the EFB Entwicklungsgesellschaft Ferienhauspark Bostalsee mbH (special-purpose association of private investors). A total of 130 million euros was invested.

SHS as project manager, builder and owner created the central structure with subtropical bathing paradise, sports facilities, gastronomy and shops on an area of 15,000 m². The “Market-Dome” with its café, a restaurant and a small supermarket is specially designed for families with children. A variety of play and sports facilities are offered in the central structure area. The “Aqua Mundo” fun pool attracts guests to its subtropical palm paradise all year round and in all weathers. The fun park, designed for the whole family, can accommodate more than one thousand visitors.

The Bostalsee project company was responsible for the real estate and development of the site, as well as the planting of gardens and landscaping. This also includes the infrastructure such as the lido, parking spaces and the area around the holiday homes. EFB built 500 holiday homes and also marketed them.

The holiday park has developed into an important local source of jobs. This park, which is a beacon project for the entire region, has made Saarland even more of a tourist destination.
