It was announced today (13/06) at the Handelsblatt Hydrogen Summit in Essen that the hydrogen agency H2Saar, Stahl-Holding-Saar, Stahl-Verband-Saar and Grande Region Hydrogen would be working together to hold the next edition of this leading industry event in Saarland on 21 and 22 May 2025.
At the Handelsblatt Hydrogen Summit in Essen, the CEO of H2Saar Dr. Bettina Hübschen – on behalf of partners Stahl-Holding-Saar, Stahl-Verband-Saar and Grande Region Hydrogen – signed a contract to organise the Hydrogen Summit on 21 and 22 May in Saarland.
‘Hydrogen is playing a vital role in the energy revolution. Saarland’s position at the heart of Europe makes it a vital anchor and hub for hydrogen. The aim of the Hydrogen Summit in Saarland will be to promote innovation, exchange ideas, and sustainably shape the future of energy supply’, Dr. Bettina Hübschen explained.
The fact that leading hydrogen stakeholders in the region have together managed to bring this vital conference to Saarland is a crucial step in further developing sustainable hydrogen applications, and shows the level of collaboration that already exists between companies involved with this key technology.

Plenty is already happening in Saarland – we are driving Saarland’s transformation forward using hydrogen.
