Warm welcome to the first holiday flight from Antalya

Turkish airline SunExpress resumes flights at the SCN

Welcome back SunExpress: This Friday, the Turkish airline resumed its flight operations at Saarbrücken Airport. The holiday plane from Antalya was welcomed with the traditional christening by the airport fire brigade.

`We are pleased that our long-term partner SunExpress is back again,` said Jürgen Barke, State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the SCN Supervisory Board. `Since 1993, the airline has been an appreciated and reliable partner at the Saar Airport. For 28 years by now, especially tourists have profited from a direct connection to Turkey. `

The vacation mecca on the Turkish Riviera will be served by SCN up to four times a week under the summer flight schedule and beyond that until December 5th. Flights can also be booked in winter: between December 12, 2021 and February 27, 2022, the airline will serve Antalya once a week, and twice a week from March 2, 2022.

`The Germans are literally in the starting blocks and after months of doing without they are longing very much for travelling,` comments Peter Glade, CCO at SunExpress. `We really enjoy flying and especially doing so from Saarbrücken. After so many years here, we know: Turkey is one of the most popular destinations and we look forward to bringing many holidaymakers back on vacation respectively enabling them to visit their friends and families.`

Also Thomas Schuck, Managing Director of SCN, emphasizes this aspect: `As SunExpress has an important Turkish hub with Antalya, the airline is also of great interest for ethnic traffic. This is especially true for people of Turkish origin in the Greater Region.` According to Schuck, holidaymakers could also easily get to the Turkish Aegean from Antalya.

Flights with SunExpress starting from SCN can be booked as `flight only` or as part of package tours. All well-known tour operators use the flights of the popular holiday airline. In Turkey, a varied programme awaits holidaymakers: Fine sandy dream beaches, exciting tourist attractions, impressive natural landscapes and culinary highlights are part of it.

SunExpress is a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. As a holiday specialist, the airline has been offering non-stop connections between Europe and Turkey for over 30 years. Cheap flights, extra services, but also rental cars, transfers and excursions can be booked at www.sunexpress.com .
