The future “Innovation Centre” of Saarland University will be constructed on the campus of Saarland University, in the immediate vicinity of the »Science Park Saar. This is an important development for technology transfer because it will provide students, researchers, prospective founders and the business community with a space for creative exchange, networking, the development of new ideas and their realisation as initial prototypes. Project management and SIGEKO (Safety and Health Protection Coordination) for the construction of the approx. 3,500 square metre building is provided by LEG Service.
The planned form of the Innovation Centre will be unique in Germany, also because the building openly links all of its different functions on all floors. According to the current planning and tendering status, the construction total is expected to be around 20 million Euros. The future four-storey centre is being financed with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the State.
