By 2019, Ford in Saarlouis wants to take over, in two waves, 540 of its contract workers and trainees in permanent positions.
However, the plant will not do completely without temporary staff in the future: 274 non-permanent employees can remain until the end of the year. The total number of staff is about 7,000. And there is every indication that 550 additional contract workers shall be employed. This huge staff package becomes possible thanks to the planned launch of production of the new Focus in the middle of this year and the continued production of the C-Max.
