“Electro-Magnetic” at the World Cultural Heritage site Völklinger Hütte is the best new festival in Europe

The festival of electronic music “Electro-Magnetic” has been selected as the best new festival in Europe. “Electro-Magnetic” was chosen as the best European festival in the category “Best New Festival” during the prize ceremony for the European Festival Awards on Wednesday 9 January 2013 in Groningen, Netherlands. “Electro-Magnetic” is an electronic music festival organized by Presented for People GmbH & Co. KG at the World Cultural Heritage site Völklinger Hütte.

A special feature of the “Electro-Magnetic” festival is the fact that it combines top class electronic music, the industrial culture of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site Völklinger Hütte and light art into one overall work of art. The premiere on 7 July 2012 was entirely sold out with 8,000 visitors. Following the great success in 2012, there will also be a new edition of “Electro-Magnetic” at the World Cultural Heritage site Völklinger Hütte in 2013. The date is Saturday 6 July 2013. Advance ticket sales have already begun with a limited number of reduced price early booker tickets. Further information is available at www.electro-magnetic.de and www.facebook.com/electromagnetic.de.

The European Festival Awards are the only event which exclusively recognises the achievements of festivals. The prize categories include “Best Major Festival”, “Best Small Festival” and “Best New Festival”. A total of 250 festivals from 33 European countries have put themselves forward for the European Festival Awards 2013.

“We are very pleased that the festival “Electro-Magnetic” has been so well received. This has encouraged us to establish the festival at the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site Völklinger Hütte in the long term, and further expand the content”, says Thilo Ziegler, CEO of Presented for People GmbH & Co KG.
