Saar Children’s Hospice and Palliative Team delighted about donation

gwSaar CEO Schuck presents 2019 Standort Award prize money

gwSaar has presented a €2,500 donation to the Saar Children’s Hospice and Palliative Team, representing the amount won for the Standort Award at the ‘Tagen der Expansion’ conference in Frankfurt in the spring of 2019. This prize was awarded for the ‘Best Marketing Concept for New Industrial Parks’. ‘Our portal provides high-quality, consistently up-to-date data that can be handled in an easy, user-oriented way’, gwSaar’s CEO Thomas Schuck explained. ‘We are delighted to be able to donate the prize money to a good, important cause.’

gwSaar wanted to use the prize money to contribute to outpatient support and assistance for seriously ill children and young adults. ‘We are delighted about the high level of interest shown in the Saar Children’s Hospice and Palliative Team and the generous donation of €2,500. Above all, it encourages us to continue on the path we have chosen’, said Heidi Weihe, Children’s Hospice Team Leader for the Saar Children’s Hospice and Palliative Team. ‘Supporting terminally ill children and young adults is an extremely extensive task that includes medical aspects but also many other elements such as advising families, grief counselling, work with siblings and more. However, the most important thing is the gleam we see in children’s eyes when we are able to give them an enjoyable experience.’

The gwSaar team submitted the ‘Germany`s Saarland: Sites | Properties | Service’ project: a web-based portal for investors and project developers, the only one of its kind in the country, found at www.portal.germanys.saarland. It currently shows all of the commercial and industrial sites and properties available in Saarland and makes it easier for interested companies to quickly identify suitable locations – with swift personal advice from the gwSaar support team.

The panel were impressed with the first ever presentation of all of a single state’s commercial and industrial sites and properties in a sales-oriented context that can be customised and is relevant to investors. They also liked the tidy, fresh look without any distractions or superfluous details, like a well-organised drawer, allowing interested parties to identify and access services to suit them quickly and easily. The target audience is investors and project developers looking for the ideal site for expansions and relocations.

Another benefit of the portal is that thanks to a central application process, smaller municipalities with tiny marketing budgets are also to make themselves heard. The free online service is also an attractive prospect for intermediary institutions such as agents, banks or insurance companies.

The platform currently has around 140 available commercial sites and around 90 properties for office and laboratory use as well as warehouse and industrial buildings. The portal has already proven its worth with more than 3000 visitors a month and an average of five enquiries a week.
