For next summer, the airline Ryanair has added two Italian and one Spanish holiday destination to its list of flights from Saarbrücken. The flights are available to book from tomorrow.
Ryanair’s summer flight plan (March-October 2026) now includes the following three destinations from Saarbrücken Airport, all running twice a week:
The first flights coincide with the start of Saarland’s Easter holidays. The flights are available to book via the airline’s website www.ryanair.com from tomorrow.
Thomas Schuck, CEO of Saarbrücken Airport: ‘I am delighted that, in Ryanair, we have been able to convince another international airline of the strengths that the airport and region have to offer. These new destinations are significantly improving the quality and quantity of flights available to our passengers. I am expecting these options to be very popular with our passengers and for many to take advantage of the opportunity to explore new holiday destinations.’
Marcel Pouchain Meyer, Head of Marketing & Communication at Ryanair for Germany, Austria and Switzerland: ‘I am delighted to be able to announce that we are launching flights from Saarbrücken. Thanks to our growth at regional airports with competitive costs, such as Saarbrücken, we have been able to avoid the hugely high cost of accessing major airports in Germany. This enables us to keep ticket prices low and offer our passengers a wider choice. The new routes to Alicante, Lamezia Terme and Trapani with two flights a week each are perfect for the summer holidays – whether a beach vacation in Spain or exploring authentic Italian culture in Calabria or Sicily. We are looking forward to welcoming many passengers on board during the coming summer season.’
Minister of Economic Affairs Jürgen Barke: ‘This is fantastic news for Saarbrücken Airport and for holidaymakers from all over the region. These new routes further strengthen the airport’s capacity as a vital economic driver in the region. I invite Saarland residents to make active use of these new offerings next year.’
Minister of Transport Petra Berg: ‘The arrival of Ryanair flights at Saarbrücken Airport significantly boosts its attractiveness for summer holidays and especially for a young target audience. These three holiday destinations, which previously required a longer journey via Frankfurt or another airport, can now also be conveniently accessed on a shorter route from Saarbrücken.’
