Bostalsee Holiday Park

The Bostalsee holiday park, operated by Center Parks, is at the centre of the greater region of SaarLorLux and thus in the heart of Europe. Three clients realised this major project: SHS Strukturholding Saar GmbH, Projektgesellschaft Bostalsee mbH & Co. KG (3 partners: the municipality of Nohfelden 50%, the administrative district of St. Wendel 30% and the SHS subsidiary LEG Saar 20%) and EFB Entwicklungsgesellschaft Ferienhauspark Bostalsee mbH (a partnership of convenience between private investors). A total of 130 million Euros were invested in just 2 years of construction.

SHS as the project manager, client and owner, created the central unit with a subtropical pool paradise, sport facilities, gastronomy and shops on an area of 15,000 m². It is also open to non-residents of the holiday park. The ‘Market Dome’ with its café, a restaurant and a small supermarket is designed specifically for families with children. Varied play and sport activities are on offer at the central unit. The fun water park ‘Aqua Mundo’ attracts guests to its subtropical palm paradise all year round and in all weathers. The holiday fun park, designed for the whole family, offers space for more than one thousand visitors.

Projektgesellschaft Bostalsee was responsible for the sites and for developing the plot as well as for the gardening and landscape design. The infrastructure such as the beach, parking spaces and surrounding houses was also part of this contract. EFB constructed 500 holiday homes and also marketed them. Sales of the real estate at record speed show: Saarland is attractive. This is a great place to go on holiday.

The holiday park has an excellent location from a tourism point of view: 43 million people live in a radius of just three hours by car. The holiday park thus has the largest catchment area of all the centres run by Center Parks. The park registered over 900,000 overnight stays per year with almost 1.4 million overnight stays since 2013. Center Parcs Park Bostalsee is now part of the region and these holidaymakers also use the leisure facilities in the region and thus strengthen the local economy. The infrastructure of the lake villages is being developed: shops and cafés, supermarkets and petrol stations are being built. The holiday park has developed into an important local job engine. More than 300 workplaces have been created; The holiday park has developed into an important local job engine. Saarland has become even more of a tourism region with the park, which acts as a lighthouse project for the entire region.
