Whether celebrations, conferences, workshops or training, Saarland\u2019s 570-metre-high local mountain has now gained a new event venue that is perfect for a wide range of occasions: Mistel Schaumberg. It offers state-of-the-art event spaces on the site of the former \u2018Himmelszelt\u2019. The event location was created by the place2b group. LEG Saar helped to open Schaumberg Alm in 2019 as a co-investor with the municipality of Tholey, and was similarly substantially involved in bringing this recently opened event location into being. place2b, alongside representatives of the institutions that provided substantial support to the project, presented the newly created event venue on Thursday 5 December.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n What the people involved had to say:<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cornel Hahnenberg, CEO of the place2b group:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2018Schaumberg mountain and its local people have been very important to us right from the outset. This is a very special place that was increasingly looking for ways to hold celebrations of all shapes and sizes.<\/p>\n With Mistel, we are now finally able to fulfil all event requests and also throw open the doors of Schaumberg Alm to tourists and locals all year round. Mistel and its experienced director Alica Wagner will help to make this location even more attractive.\u2019<\/p>\n Valentin Holzer, CEO of LEG Saar:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2018Developing and increasing the attractiveness of valuable tourist locations, such as here on the Schaumberg plateau, is one of the Saarland Economic Promotion Corporation\u2019s core tasks. State-owned LEG Saar were also heavily involved in bringing this newly opened event location into being: they are leasing Mistel to the operator Madera Alm GmbH, which is part of the place2b group. This ties in with aim of boosting Schaumberg\u2019s attractiveness as a central tourist destination in the St. Wendel region. Collaborations between LEG Saar, the municipality of Tholey, Deutsch-Franz\u00f6sische Begegnungsst\u00e4tte Schaumberg GmbH and place2b as part of this have been seamless and trusting.\u2019<\/p>\n Andreas Maldener, mayor of Tholey:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2018As Saarland\u2019s local mountain, Schaumberg is a fundamental part of tourism in Saarland. This status will be further reinforced by the new \u201cMistel\u201d event lodge. Schaumberg Alm already offers a very broad range of gastronomic offerings at the spot, which will now be complemented by another addition that makes absolute sense.\u00a0 What is important for us as the municipality of Tholey is that \u201cMistel\u201d should not be restricted to private events, but should also be available to host municipality events on Schaumberg, as was the case with the \u201cmountain Christmas\u201d event on the first weekend of Advent.\u2019<\/p>\n
