The Saarstahl subsidiary Saar Stahlbau supplies parts to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. According to Saarstahl these are components for the so-called tuned mass damper which is crucial for the stability of highrise buildings. It is mounted at the very top of skyscrapers and compensates for movements of the building caused by wind. Saarstahl stressed that Saar Stahlbau was awarded this contract due to its expertise.
