Germany’s Saarland – Petite France

Germany’s Saarland has a closer connection to France than other federal states in Germany. This, on the one hand, due to its particular history: In the past few centuries, the Saarlanders have changed their nationality several times between Germany and France. On the other hand, as an integral part of a special France Strategy, Saarland aims at developing into a multilingual region with German-French character and thus into the first multilingual German state. So, Saarland forms a bridge between France and Germany from which not only the inhabitants of the region but also local companies benefit.
